Nitzer Ebb: Showtime

Os fãs brasileiros precisaram esperar décadas para ver a descarga de adrenalina do Nitzer Ebb ao vivo no palco. E valeu a espera!

Bon Harris, Douglas McCarthy e Jason Payne fizeram no Clash Club em São Paulo o úlimo show de 2010 da Industrial Complex Tour. Mas pela energia de todos no palco é impossível dizer que vem de uma exaustiva sequência de shows e viagens pela América Latina. Quando sobem ao palco é pura energia e dinâmica.

Antes do show imagens e animações eram projetadas nos telões espalhados pela casa. Quando perguntei ao baterista Jason Payne por que as projeções não continuam durante o show a resposta foi "Não precisamos das projeções. Basta a performance para prender a atenção". Ele não poderia estar mais certo. É impossível tirar os olhos da banda, especialmente do saltitante Douglas McCarthy.Correndo, gritando e interagindo com o público.

Com excessão de Fun to be Had, todos os hits estavam no setlist, pontuados pelas faixas menos agressivas do álbum Industrial Complex.

O público era expressivo, mas não tanto quanto poderíamos esperar para uma banda como o Nitzer Ebb. Um provável reflexo do trauma do Madame Satã Fest, quando após uma considerável venda antecipada de ingressos o organizador desapareceu com o dinheiro, deixando fãs, patrocinadores e parceiros no prejuízo.

Brazilian fans have been waiting for decades for the moment they could finally see the adrenalin rush of Nitzer Ebb live on stage. And you can rest assure it was worth the wait.

Bon Harris, Douglas McCarthy and Jason Payne played their last concert for 2010 at Clash Club in São Paulo, but you could never tell they're coming for a long and restless tour across Latin America. Once they hit the stage all you see is energy and dynamics.

Some neat images and animation videos were projected before the concert and when I asked Jason Payne why they are turned off during the concert he said they don't need the videos once they're on stage. Their performance should be enough. And he's right! You can't take your eyes off the band, specially the hyperactive Douglas McCarthy. Running around, shouting and interacting with the audience.

Except for Fun to be had you probably won't miss any of the hits. The setlist also included the less harsh songs from their last release, the album Industrial Complex.

Maybe the audience was smaller than expected. perhaps still one of the symptoms of the failed Madame Satã Fest event in 2009, when a huge number of tickets have been sold just before the promoteur vanished with the money and cancelled the festival. Nitzer Ebb would headline the festival at the time.
